Dr. Mark Waldrop has devoted his life to the care of animals, guided by a deep respect for the bond between pets and the families who love them. Originally from Gainesville, Texas, he spent much of his childhood in Nashville, Tennessee, where his lifelong connection to animals first took root.
He completed his undergraduate studies at Belmont University and Murray State University before earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee in 1988. After three years in general practice, Dr. Waldrop founded the Nashville Cat Clinic in 1992—the first feline-exclusive veterinary practice in Nashville. Over the next three decades, he built and led a highly respected practice, ultimately retiring and entrusting it to his associate in 2024.
After a brief period of retirement, Dr. Waldrop realized his calling to serve animals and their families was not yet complete. Throughout his career, one aspect of veterinary medicine had always stayed with him—the difficulty of seeing beloved pets experience fear and anxiety during their final moments, often brought on by the stress of traveling to a clinic.
That realization became the foundation for Peaceful Passage.
Dr. Waldrop believes that a pet’s final moments should be handled with the same compassion and dignity that defined their life. By offering in-home euthanasia services, he provides families the opportunity to say goodbye in a calm, familiar setting—where pets feel safe, and where their final moments can be shared in peace, surrounded by those who love them most.
Having cared for animals his entire life, both personally and professionally, Dr. Waldrop approaches this work with quiet empathy, clinical experience, and a profound sense of purpose. His mission is simple: to ensure that every pet’s final journey is as gentle, respectful, and peaceful as possible.
